Hahaha, we're perfect for each other!\" A day where cold gives way to warmth, and the glimmer of hope is shining again. A lady of secrets and a most meticulous planner of vengeance: sharp, thrifty, and observant. Her identity has been a cause of her insecurity. She approached the Detective for a common goal, only to drift away once their goals no longer aligned. Now she is burning away the last vestiges of her life for a final showdown, a fiery burst of magma long suppressed within a body as enduring as stone, recorded in 'Cinderella'. A preview build's Character Identity screen confirms her Combat Style as Striker DPS and her Identity as Outlaw. Her kit runs on a 'Vengeful Flame' resource that builds into a 'Quenched' state: Basic Attack 'Double-Quenched Blade' is a 5-hit sword combo with a Charged Shot and long-range barrage follow-up, Skill 'Re-Smelt' sprays gunfire that consumes Vengeful Flame, Ultimate 'Carriage of Conflagration' activates Quenched (enhancing her other abilities for 12s) before a second Ultimate-Quenched activation summons an exploding chariot, Tactical Assault 'Thermal Contact' is a flying kick switch-in, and Passive 'Thermal Rampage' grants +35% CRIT Rate during Quenched. The Ultimate's flavor text addresses someone named 'Ashley', which may be her civilian name behind the Cinderella persona.\n\nThe Dichotomy Beta story confirms the connection: Ashley is the civilian behind 'Cinderella'. She talks her way into the Detective's employ by posing as a Royal Academy graduate who asks for no wages, offering only a riddle she calls the 'mystery of the stolen silver'. In truth she is one of the Cinderellas herself, a survivor of the Silverium extraction at the United Vermentum Works factory, and she engineered her hiring so the Detective would uncover the truth she could not chase alone.\n\nBehind the scenes she spends what little she saves paying the assassin Red Rose to protect the Detective again and again, including an engineered werewolf disturbance that pulls him clear of Superintendent Rex. When the leads turn deadly and suspicion falls on her, Ashley slips away, and at Bridgehead's company docks she thanks the Detective, calls him her prince, and leaves to take her revenge alone. Argos works in a bar where all sorts of people gather, and he carries a cane gun at all times, a helpful tool for deterring inebriated troublemakers. Of course, Argos prefers conversing with his shakers. He can support his fellow partners in combat: those exhausted in battle can always count on Argos to offer a freshly shaken mix with therapeutic properties. A young bartender with a silver tongue, he joined MISS to get to the top, and now lurks behind the bar, listening and waiting, knowing precisely when to charm with words and when to let silence do the work.\n\nIn the Dichotomy Beta story, Argos tends the Memoir Bar, the warm, oak-scented haunt where the returning Detective's journey begins. He greets the Detective like a returning legend, pours a strong, sweet house drink called the 'city wanderer' on the house, and notes that many people have been waiting for this return, among them Chief Inspector Lorin. Although Alf is quite clumsy in all manner of mundane household chores, she is surprisingly dependable during fights. Alf usually confronts enemies with her shotgun; activating the Reactor on her back converts the shotgun into a flamethrower, spewing fires that reduce enemies into cinders. Maid No. 49 of the Maid Institute, Society, and Services (MISS), she learned of the Detective's kind nature and chose to stick around, carrying only two weapons: a flamethrower, and a bulletproof innocent heart. 'NO WEAPONS in the kitchen.' A memo from the Detective, posted on the fridge door.\n\nIn the Dichotomy Beta story, Alf is the first assistant candidate Lorin brings to the Detective, and she fails every test: she cannot spell, has no idea how to brew tea, and her smooth, uncalloused hands and brand-new reactor mark her as a stranger to hard work. Undeterred by the rejection, she simply refuses to leave and appoints herself guardian of the reopened office.\n\nThat stubbornness pays off. When the journalist Grimm sneaks in, Alf thrashes him and throws him out, unknowingly protecting the notebook he had come to hide, evidence that later cracks the Cinderellas case wide open. The rest of her showcase is comedy and heart: salty tea from mixing up the salt and sugar, self-taught baking timed by waiting for the 'boom', a staring contest won against a crow, and pocket money quietly saved to buy the Detective a gift.","url":"https://www.silverpalacemeta.com/characters/alf"},{"name":"Lorin","title":"The Indispensable","rarity":4,"reactorAttribute":"Fulmen","combatStyle":"Break Suppressor","identity":"Guardian","faction":"River Constabulary","weapon":"Electric Boxing Gloves","occupation":"Chief Inspector","description":"\"Let's keep those brats in check, and then we'll get to have our vacation in peace.\" Let the lad stumble, pick out the lapse, and demonstrate proper form. Lorin fights criminals with electric boxing gloves that have been set to non-lethal voltage levels, and his wide-area shock attacks make him a durable crowd-control front-liner rather than a single-target damage dealer. The constabulary is a rather new organization, and enforcing the law has been extremely arduous. Perplexed by his job, Lorin offered the Detective a partnership. He is no prodigious detective, but he believes the world will eventually rely not on heroes but on a stable and sustainable system. He is a Fulmen Break Suppressor with a Guardian identity.\n\nIn the Dichotomy Beta story, it is Lorin who calls the Detective back to Silvernia, needing help with the constabulary's Nameless Ashes case. He waves off his own title, calls himself little more than a figurehead of a force cobbled together by the military in the knights' absence, and enforces the rule that every case needs a team of two, which is why the Detective ends up interviewing assistants at all.\n\nHis side thread reveals a secret: Lorin was once the street legend known as Silver Fist. Rather than beat the teenage gang that worships his old tag, he poses as the still-living Silver Fist to steer them back toward school. A cold and mean doctor who conducts medical research in secret chambers within her clinic, Firtho is capable of applying her medical expertise in combat to deliver a fatal blow to adversaries. Due to a congenital illness she must wear a life-sustaining device at all times; she wants no pity and hates being a burden. In the endless river of death, life is only a coincidence along the way. She fights with a saw cleaver and syringes as a Radiatio Guardian, and Second Heart is the only direct healing in the game.\n\nIn the Dichotomy Beta story, Firtho is the Detective's blunt childhood friend and the coroner behind the corner clinic in a quiet, forgotten district, nicknamed 'Miss Mortis' for a reclusive childhood spent watching autopsies. She brews the stabilizer that holds the Detective's nightmares at bay, and quietly inoculates terrified gangsters against a contagious rash with an experimental serum rather than experimenting on them as they fear.\n\nHer own quest is a locked-room 'vampire' case at Williams Manor. To prove a death was faked, she injects a tetrodotoxin nerve agent into her own arm and wears a mask through the night, counterfeiting death to expose the trick. So highborn that even Superintendent Rex must bow to her, she is a sheltered girl who has never spoken to a commoner, chaperoned everywhere by her governess Moira. Her case begins as a search for three missing cats and turns darker: a framed werewolf family and the collapsing Crescent Guild of Baron Barton.\n\nOver the night Cynthia learns that Moira's distrust of commoners and a werewolf girl's hatred of nobles are both wrong, and she chooses kindness, spending her month's allowance on werewolf stabilizers for the girl she rescues. Though red by name, the hand fate has given her is dark and cruel, and only in love or in death shall she be granted forgiveness. A preview build's Character Identity screen confirms her as an Ignis character with a Combat Support combat style and Saviour identity. Her kit runs on a 'Rose Petals' resource that she spends to place exploding 'Rose Blooms': Basic Attack 'Akimbo Overture' is a 5-hit Ignis combo that grants Rose Petals on its 3rd and 5th hits, backed by a two-level Charged Attack and a Pursuit Attack after dodging, Skill 'War of the Roses' consumes a full Rose Petal bar for a flurry of attacks and grants a 'Bright Rhythm' state, during which a held Basic Attack spawns Rose Blooms and raises the whole team's CRIT DMG, Ultimate 'Grand Finale' sends out a circle of thorns for massive Ignis DMG and spawns more Rose Blooms, Tactical Assault 'Epic Debut' swings her in on a vine while firing for Ignis DMG and Rose Petals, and Passive 'Onstage Preparation' raises the whole team's Ignis DMG whenever Rose Blooms explode. An earlier preview build called the Basic Attack 'Prelude by Fire' and used 'Rose Petals' for both the resource and the exploding flowers.\n\nIn the Dichotomy Beta story, the Red Rose is a flirtatious assassin tied to House Flora, whose members carry flower titles. Her childhood dreams are now a driving force that propels her to ascend ever higher, and the rot of ambition spares none; those who remain strong, marching ever on into the future, are never truly innocent at heart. Framed as an administrative power broker rather than a frontline fighter, she fights with a whip and bladed boots as a Glacies Resonance DPS, and she is the only 4-star carry on the roster. Her kit runs on 'Funds' banked by her Basic Attack combo and spent on Skill 'Spot Check', a gliding attack that can be cast twice in a row and grants 'Liquid Assets'.
