Dichotomy: Retrace sign-ups open, and Silver Palace's beta goes mobile

Elementa opened recruitment for the "Dichotomy: Retrace" Technical Test on September 23, 2026. It is the third Silver Palace beta, the one the beta test tracker has followed since July, and it is the first to put the game on phones. Android and iOS are the test platforms, and PC runs alongside them.

The catch sits halfway down the announcement. If you qualified for this test through the Dichotomy surveys, you are not in yet. You have to fill in the new survey too.

Quick answer

  • Sign up: the official recruitment survey. Submitting it puts you in the draw. It does not guarantee a place.
  • Deadline: Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 18:00 (UTC+8). That is 10:00 UTC, 12:00 CEST, 11:00 BST and 06:00 EDT.
  • Who can apply: players aged 18 and over.
  • Platforms: Android and iOS, with PC available at the same time.
  • Dates of the test itself: not announced. Elementa says it will notify selected Detectives directly.
  • Type: a limited, confidential test under an NDA, with a data wipe and no in-game purchases.

How to sign up

Open the survey and submit it before the October 10 cutoff. The platform you are assigned depends on what you enter there, so fill in the device questions for the phone you actually intend to use.

Selected players get a notification by email or "other appropriate channels" and must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before the test starts. Elementa has not said when those notifications go out, only that the timing will be confirmed later.

Already qualified through Dichotomy? Fill it in anyway

In August Elementa opened a results page where Dichotomy testers could check whether their in-game surveys had earned them access to the third test. Plenty of people checked, saw a yes, and stopped paying attention.

That yes is now conditional. The Retrace announcement says players who obtained access through the Dichotomy Beta Test must still complete this recruitment survey and provide additional information. Once they do, they are granted access directly. If they do not, they receive no further notifications or invitations about the test.

So the survey is a formality for you, but a formality with a deadline. Miss October 10 and the place you earned in August lapses.

Platforms, cross-save and device rules

This is the first Silver Palace test with a mobile client. Monotype and Dichotomy were both Windows PC only.

The recruitment FAQ sets these rules:

  • Selected testers get access to both the PC and mobile versions, based on the survey and final selection.
  • Logging in with the same account carries your save between PC and mobile.
  • Eligibility is not shared between mobile platforms. An iPhone slot does not let you play on an Android tablet.
  • One Elementa account can log in on at most one PC and two mobile devices, one iOS and one Android.
  • Access binds to the device you first log in on. Changing devices during the test gets the account banned.

The last rule is the one to take seriously. Pick the phone you will use for the whole test before your first login, not after.

What is in the build

Less than the name suggests. Elementa describes it as a performance-optimised version of Silver Palace with content that is "largely consistent" with the Dichotomy Beta Test. If you played Dichotomy, expect the same cases, districts and cast on a client that has been reworked to run on more hardware. The Dichotomy beta guide covers what that content was.

Elementa is unusually blunt about the state of it. Device compatibility, performance and visual quality are still in development, and it warns testers to expect overheating, frame-rate drops and stuttering.

None of this is a surprise. The post-Dichotomy roadmap in August said performance "still requires further optimization" and promised a mobile version in a future test. Retrace is that test, and it arrived 41 days after Dichotomy ended. The gap between Monotype ending and Dichotomy recruitment opening was 159 days. A fast turnaround on the same content reads as a hardware test, not a content reveal, and that is what Elementa says it is.

For PC players the last published figures are still the Dichotomy specs on the system requirements page. Elementa has not published separate PC or mobile requirements for Retrace.

The NDA changes what you will see

Dichotomy was streamed and clipped from day one. Retrace will not be. Testers sign an NDA before they start, so do not expect public footage, build breakdowns or tier lists from inside the test.

That also makes it an easy test to scam around. Elementa's FAQ bans transferring or selling test clients and accounts, revokes access for anyone caught doing it, and warns about misleading offers of account sharing or client sales. Device binding means a bought account would ban itself on your hardware anyway. The tracker's section on buying access explains why none of those listings work.

What has not been announced

The start date, the end date, the number of places and the date qualification notices go out. The release date is also still unannounced; see the platforms guide for where each version stands. Questions go to service_global@elementagames.com.

FAQ

How do I sign up for the Silver Palace beta?

Complete the Dichotomy: Retrace recruitment survey on Elementa's survey site before October 10, 2026 at 18:00 (UTC+8). You must be 18 or older. Submitting the survey enters you for selection, and selected players are notified by email or other official channels.

When does the Dichotomy: Retrace sign-up close in CET?

Recruitment closes on October 10, 2026 at 18:00 (UTC+8), which is 12:00 CEST. Central Europe is still on summer time that day, so it is 12:00 local time in Berlin and Paris, 11:00 in London and 10:00 UTC.

Is the Silver Palace beta on mobile?

Yes. The Dichotomy: Retrace Technical Test runs on Android and iOS, with PC available at the same time. Selected testers get both PC and mobile access, and saves carry across when you log in with the same account. It is the first Silver Palace test with a mobile client.

Do Dichotomy testers get into Retrace automatically?

Only if they submit the new recruitment survey. Players who earned access through the Dichotomy Beta Test surveys must complete the Retrace survey and provide additional information, and are then granted access directly. Players who skip it receive no invitation.

Is there a third Silver Palace beta test?

Yes. The third test is the Dichotomy: Retrace Technical Test, announced on September 23, 2026. It is a confidential, limited test with a data wipe and no in-game purchases, and its content is largely the same as the Dichotomy Beta Test on a performance-optimised build. Test dates have not been announced.
