Controls & Keybinds
Every PC, gamepad, and mobile control scheme in Silver Palace, plus remapping options and Steam Deck notes.
Silver Palace supports keyboard and mouse, gamepad, and touch controls, and every scheme covers the same core actions: move, parry, dodge, use a skill, swap characters, and interact with the world. This guide lays out the default bindings for each input method so you can get comfortable before diving into the Combat Mastery guide.
PC Keyboard & Mouse
The default PC layout splits combat and investigation cleanly across the keyboard and mouse.
| Action | Default Key |
|---|---|
| Move | WASD |
| Basic Attack | Left Mouse Button |
| Guard / Parry | Right Mouse Button |
| Dodge | Shift |
| Combat Skill | E |
| Secondary Skill / Interrupt | R |
| Ultimate | F |
| Character Swap | Tab or number keys |
| Interact | F (context-sensitive) |
| Detective Vision | V |
| Sprint | Left Ctrl |
| Map | M |
Parry and guard share the right mouse button: press and release quickly on the yellow telegraph rather than holding it down. All of these bindings can be remapped in Settings, so if Tab feels awkward for character swap during fast rotations, moving it closer to your movement keys reduces the reach needed mid-fight.
Gamepad
Gamepad input maps combat to the face buttons, with dodge and parry each getting their own button so you are not fighting the controller layout mid-combo. Shoulder buttons and triggers handle aim and skills, and character swap sits on the d-pad so you can access any of your four party members without cycling through them one at a time. Investigation prompts appear contextually on the same face button used to interact with the world, so you rarely need to check a prompt legend mid-scene.
Gamepad button mapping is remappable the same way keyboard bindings are, which matters for Steam Deck and other handhelds: binding parry to a rear paddle or grip button keeps your thumbs on the face buttons and avoids the claw-grip strain that comes from reaching for a shoulder button under pressure.
Mobile Touch Controls
Mobile uses a virtual joystick for movement, with attack buttons clustered on the right side of the screen. Dodge is a swipe-up gesture, and there is a dedicated parry button sized for quick taps under pressure. Investigation switches to point-and-tap evidence tagging instead of the free-look detective vision used on PC and gamepad. Customization on mobile is more limited than PC or gamepad: you can reposition the joystick and buttons, but there is no full keybind remapping.
Steam Deck & Handhelds
Silver Palace's PC build runs on Steam Deck and similar handhelds using the gamepad control scheme above. Binding parry to a rear paddle equivalent (where the hardware supports it) is the most comfortable setup for extended sessions, since it keeps your thumbs free for movement and camera control during longer fights.
Recommended Settings
A few small settings changes make Silver Palace's combat easier to read. Enable parry indicator prompts while you are still learning the timing windows, since a visible cue takes the guesswork out of early attempts. Consider reducing camera shake for long sessions, since heavy shake compounds with the telegraph reading you are already doing. And if you are on PC, map character swap to a key near your movement cluster so it is quick to reach mid-rotation rather than a stretch to the far side of the keyboard.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I remap controls in Silver Palace?
Yes. PC supports full keyboard and mouse remapping in Settings, and gamepad button mapping can be adjusted the same way. Mobile offers more limited customization, mainly repositioning the virtual joystick and attack buttons.
Does Silver Palace support gamepad on PC?
Yes, gamepad input is supported on PC alongside keyboard and mouse. Combat maps to face buttons and triggers, with partner swap on the d-pad, and investigation prompts appear contextually on the same face button used for interacting.
What are the default PC controls in Silver Palace?
Left mouse button handles basic attacks, right mouse button handles guard and parry, Shift dodges, and character skills sit on dedicated keys separate from parry. Character swap, interact, detective vision, and the map each have their own default key, all of which can be remapped.
What are the mobile touch controls like?
A virtual joystick handles movement, attack buttons cluster on the right side of the screen with a swipe-up dodge and a dedicated parry button, and investigation switches to point-and-tap evidence tagging.
Once your inputs feel comfortable, the Combat Mastery guide covers what to actually do with them: parry timing, dodge windows, and the full Stun-to-Execution loop. If you are checking whether your hardware can run the game at all, see System Requirements, and for what is currently playable, see the Dichotomy Beta guide.
