Silver Palace Catalysts

All 17 Reactor Catalysts with their full Tactical Assault effects, what the three Reactor slots cost, and where they drop.

17 Catalysts 3 Reactor slots 14 Power budget

A Catalyst is a stone you slot into a character's own Reactor. It is the one equip layer that does not sit in a shared loadout: Motives, Implements and Epiphanies are gear you hang on a character, while Catalysts attach to the Reactor itself.

Every Catalyst in the game keys off the same trigger. Your character launches a Tactical Assault, and the Catalyst's effect runs for a window afterwards, usually 12 or 16 seconds. That makes them the payoff at the end of the combat loop rather than a passive stat stick, and it is why the Reactor and Tactical Assault guide is worth reading alongside this list.

  • Every character equips up to three Catalysts in their own Reactor, and the slots cost 1, 2 and 4 Power, so a full Reactor runs to 7.
  • The team shares one Power budget. Raising your Crisis Level lifts it to 3, then 7, then 14.
  • There are eight Catalyst attributes: Ignis, Glacies, Fulmen, Gravitas, Radiatio, Ferrugo, Alba and Omni. You can equip a Catalyst of a given attribute as long as somebody on the team has a Reactor of that attribute, and Omni Catalysts fit anyone.

One thing that trips people up: Hilbert's Hotel has its own Catalysts, which last for a single run and level up inside it. They share the word and nothing else. Everything on this page is the permanent kind.

How to read this list

Open any Catalyst above for its full effect text, where Catalysts come from, and how the Reactor slots and Power costs work. All 17 sit at purple rarity, so there is no tier to chase: the difference between them is entirely what the effect does.

A few patterns show up once you have them side by side:

  • Three timing shapes. Eight effects open a 16 second window after the Tactical Assault and six open a 12 second one. The other three, Stone, Cryoflux and Tin, resolve the moment the Tactical Assault lands rather than opening a window at all.
  • Silverdrips are their own bracket. Cryoflux, Vulkanash and Dry Ice all pay out in Silverdrips, which feeds straight back into the next Tactical Assault. See the Resonance guide for how that loop closes.
  • Three of them buff the team, not the holder. Stone shields everyone, Tin heals everyone, and Vulkanash hands Silverdrips to the whole lineup, which makes them support picks even on a damage character.
  • Ferroxene is the odd one out. It trades away the ability to build attribute debuffs and Stun entirely, in exchange for a flat DMG Bonus.

Where Catalysts come from

Acquisition is not tracked per Catalyst, so these routes apply to all 17:

  • Advancement Tests, labelled Mental Breakthrough in game, are where most Catalysts come from.
  • Quests, exploration and puzzle rewards hand out the rest as you work through the city.
  • Adversary enemies, the elite tier, can drop them.
  • The Catalyst Shop sells them outright for Hilbert's Hotel Vouchers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Catalyst in Silver Palace?

A Catalyst is a stone you slot into a character’s own Reactor. Unlike Motives and Implements, which sit in a shared gear loadout, Catalysts attach to the character directly, and every one of them fires off the same trigger: that character launching a Tactical Assault. The effect then runs for a window afterwards, 12 or 16 seconds on most of them, though three resolve the instant the Tactical Assault lands.

How many Catalysts are there in Silver Palace?

There are 17 Reactor Catalysts, each with its own Tactical Assault effect. This page lists all 17 with the full effect text.

How many Catalysts can a character equip?

Three, in that character’s own Reactor. The first slot costs 1 Power, the second 2 and the third 4, so filling one Reactor costs 7. The whole team draws on a single Power budget that rises to 3, then 7, then 14 as you raise your Crisis Level, which is why a fully loaded Reactor takes half the final budget on its own.

Can any character equip any Catalyst?

Almost. There are eight Catalyst attributes: Ignis, Glacies, Fulmen, Gravitas, Radiatio, Ferrugo, Alba and Omni. A Catalyst of a given attribute can go on any character as long as somebody on the team carries a Reactor of that attribute, and Omni Catalysts have no restriction at all.

Where do Catalysts come from?

Most drop from Advancement Tests, labelled Mental Breakthrough in game. The rest come from quests, exploration, puzzle rewards and Adversary enemy drops, and the Catalyst Shop sells them outright for Hilbert’s Hotel Vouchers.

Are the Catalysts in Hilbert’s Hotel the same thing?

No. Hilbert’s Hotel has its own run-scoped Catalysts that last only for that run and level up inside it. They share the word and nothing else. The Catalysts on this page are the permanent ones you equip to a Reactor.
