Lorin (Chief Inspector): Silver Palace Character Title Page
Lorin (Chief Inspector): The Indispensable
Silver Palace has revealed the official character title page for Lorin, confirming his rank as Chief Inspector of the River Constabulary. His tagline reads: The Indispensable.

Who is Lorin?
"Let's keep those brats in check, and then we'll get to have our vacation in peace."
The title page's flavor text lays out who he is:
A chief inspector worthy of your trust, a good soul who's always on his feet from dawn till dusk.
Rose to some fame in his youth for the strength of his punches, but hung up his gloves for a pen and a stack of case files that'll keep him busy all night.
Today, he takes a stance against violence as he stands proudly in uniform.
For justice and fairness depend on more than how hard you can throw a punch.
What the title page tells us
The "hung up his gloves for a pen" line lines up with what our Silver Fist lore breakdown already confirmed: Lorin's fighting career predates his badge entirely, and he buried it on purpose when he traded the street legend Silver Fist for a desk at the River Constabulary. The title page doesn't name that history directly, but the phrasing tracks with a man who chose paperwork over the fists that made him famous.
"Takes a stance against violence" also matches his kit. As covered in the build guide, Lorin fights with electric boxing gloves deliberately set to non-lethal voltage, subduing rather than deleting the enemies he faces. The tagline "The Indispensable" and the closing line about justice depending on more than a hard punch both fit the same read: he's the department's steady, dependable center, not its biggest hitter.
Lorin's background
Lorin is the Chief Inspector of the River Constabulary, and the writing plays him as dutiful but weary: permanently behind on paperwork, lecturing his constables over their reports, and answering to a Navy superintendent who treats his whole department as an afterthought. He is also the character who sets the Dichotomy beta's plot in motion, calling the Detective back to Silvernia to work the Nameless Ashes case and personally attaching the two-person rule that drives the assistant interviews. He waves off his own rank at the reunion, calling himself little more than a figurehead of a force the military cobbled together in the knights' absence.
Ten years before the story begins, Lorin was the masked street legend Silver Fist, and he buried that identity on purpose rather than keep fighting outside the law. A side case in the beta proves it: his worn boxing glove matches the shape in a gang's graffiti mural of the vanished legend, the tag's handwriting matches his own penmanship, and an inscription on the glove seals it. He would rather take a beating from that gang than raise the glove and give himself away. Full breakdown in our Silver Fist lore piece.

In the Story: Dichotomy Beta
Lorin is the one who calls the Detective back to Silvernia in the first place, asking for help on the case the constabulary calls the Nameless Ashes and enforcing the two-person rule that drives the assistant interviews. He waves off his own title and calls himself little more than a figurehead of a force the military cobbled together in the knights' absence.
His side quest hides the bigger reveal: ten years ago, Lorin was the street legend Silver Fist, and he'd sooner take a beating from a teenage gang than let them find out. Full details in the Silver Fist lore breakdown and the story recap.
