Saviour's Aid
In-game item text, all 4 tiers
Disposable Medical Implement
Written upon a note by the clinic's sink: "Rinse your hands well under running water, and ensure to lather soap across the entirety of your hands and wrists".
Household Medical Implement
According to the Alchemical Research Academy, the casings of stabiliser vials are deliberately made light and fragile, so that patients unable to twist the cap may simply shatter them to access their contents.
Complete Emergency Kit
Curiously, among the indispensable surgical manuals lies a volume entitled Clinic Combat in Practise. It observes: "Should the patient prove uncooperative, it is essential that the attending physician possess some familiarity with the art of hand-to-hand combat."
Intricate Surgical Implement
Sometimes, to provide aid, we must first harm. And in order to give, we must first take.
Saviour's Aid is the four-tier ascension route for the Saviour Identity, and the ladder is medical equipment. It starts with the most boring possible instruction and ends somewhere much darker.
The arc
The first drop is a disposable implement, and its flavour text is a note taped above a clinic sink telling you to lather soap across your hands and wrists. Nothing else. A tier-one green drop whose entire contribution to the setting is basic hygiene.
The second is a household kit, and it quietly becomes interesting. The Alchemical Research Academy makes stabiliser vial casings light and fragile on purpose, so a patient too weak to twist a cap can smash the thing open instead. That is a design decision by people who thought about who would be holding the vial and in what state.
The third is where the game shows its hand. Among the surgical manuals in a complete emergency kit there is a volume called Clinic Combat in Practise, and the quoted passage advises that if the patient will not cooperate the attending physician should know some hand-to-hand. It is played as a curiosity. It is not one.
The fourth drops the humour entirely. To provide aid we must first harm, and to give we must first take. Two clauses on the orange tier, no framing, no joke.
The surgeon is not a Saviour
The roster's Saviours are Red Rose, Gucia and Captain Kaboom: a dancer, an apprentice and a technician. The game's actual doctor, Firtho, carries the Guardian Identity and sits in the Survival and Healing combat style.
That is worth pausing on, because it is easy to assume the three character systems line up. They do not. Identity, combat style and Reactor Attribute are set independently, so the man who performs surgery ascends on Guardian's Resilience and reads law books, while the Saviour ladder describes his profession and gets spent by a dancer.
Read Saviour's Aid as a definition rather than a character sheet. It says the Saviour Identity is about intervention that costs the person receiving it, which fits Red Rose and Captain Kaboom far better than it fits a clinic.
Where the text sits
All four drop from Saviour's Aid, listed by name on the ascension materials page with the flavour text left off, which is where every one of these ladders goes to be ignored.
