IGN published the "House of Greed" trailer for Silver Palace on August 25, the day before gamescom 2026 opened its doors in Cologne. It runs 88 seconds and it is the trailer sitting in the 09:00 Trailer Showcase slot on the Silver Palace booth's gamescom 2026 stage schedule: the same booth, Hall 6.1 Stand C021, that this site already covered in detail.

House of Greed is a multiplayer mode

The reveal is the last stretch of the trailer, and it looks different from everything before it on purpose. The earlier cuts are the detective campaign as it already plays. The closing segment is House of Greed, shot from a different camera angle, lit differently, and pitched at a different kind of tension. It is a mode change, not a switch from in-engine footage to CGI.

That makes House of Greed the first multiplayer content shown for a game marketed as a single-player detective RPG since its first beta. What the mode actually does minute to minute has not been detailed. The footage shows people being hunted and the thing hunting them, which reads as co-op survival rather than anything like the campaign's investigation loop, but party size, rules and release window are all still blank.

What the trailer actually says

The cut is narrated as a case file, in the detective's own voice, and it never breaks from that frame. It opens with a line pitched straight at the player: "I'll leave it to you to make the dead speak." A few seconds later comes the line that matters most: "Nothing and no one will keep me from the truth. Not even the purists."

From there the trailer moves through a fragmented set of clues, a partial line about doing something "in this way," a beat where one voice asks about leads and another confirms "it's just as you surmised," and a pointer toward the case itself: "The final clue is in that cursed place." It closes on the line the trailer is named for: "If greed comes at a cost, what price would you pay to bring back someone you love?"

That's a complete emotional pitch in one sentence: a resurrection bargain, framed as the cost of greed. It also explains the visual the trailer keeps returning to, and the one used above, a body rendered in dripping, molten silver with a violet crack running through the skull. It reads less like armor and more like a person the silver is still consuming.

Why "the Purists" isn't a throwaway line

The trailer is naming an existing faction. Silver Palace's factions guide already documents the Purists, also called Vita et Mors, Latin for "life and death": a secret society that exploits Silverium to gain power and carry out assassinations. No named playable member has been confirmed, which is exactly why the group has stayed a shadow presence in the game's marketing until now.

The story recap already ties that faction to the game's founding tragedy. A Purist cell turned the royal airship's own reactor against everyone aboard during Queen Agoria's ceremony, spawning monstrous creatures out of leaking Silverium. The Queen died, one of the two sibling detectives was lost, and the surviving detective was blamed for it. That's the source of the silver, half-dissolved figure in this trailer: it's the same Silverium corruption the story recap already put a name to, not a new monster type invented for the marketing.

Put the closing line back next to that history and "House of Greed" stops being a generic subtitle. The Purists' whole method is paying a Silverium price for power. The trailer's bargain, greed's cost against bringing back someone you love, is the same trade dressed as a personal one instead of a political one.

Where this fits

The trailer showed at the booth this site already mapped in full, Hall 6.1 Stand C021, which also runs three Live Stage Performances a day and the on-site playable demo. Two things came out of one 88-second cut: the Purists moved from background faction to the likeliest thread for whatever comes after the current content drought, and the game picked up a multiplayer mode nobody was asking it for. The second is the bigger surprise. A gacha detective RPG built around one player reading a crime scene now has a mode where other people are in the room.
