Incidents and Exploration Progress

How High Peers hands you work, how a quarter counts your progress, and every city activity the game names, separated from the 3 it actually explains.

Quoted From In-Game Text10 activities24 achievements

Silver Palace never sits you down and explains its open world. There is no activity menu, no checklist screen that names the things you can do. The city just starts handing you work as you walk into it, and the only place the game writes any of it down is a tutorial pop-up you can dismiss in half a second.

So this page collects the pop-ups. What an Incident is, how progress is counted per quarter, the tool nearly every activity runs on, and the full list of what High Peers puts in front of you. It also does something a guide is usually too proud to do: it tells you which of those activities the game explains and which ones it only names, because the split is stark and nobody else states it.

Quick Answer

An Incident is one piece of optional work out in the city, and you find it by walking into a district rather than by picking it off a list. Exploration Progress is counted per quarter, not per city, with its own details screen and its own reward track. Silver-Kinesis, the held telekinetic grab, is the tool most Incidents run on.

Ten activity families carry achievements, and only three of them are explained anywhere in the game's own text: Grid Shutdown, Feline Breakout and Corrupting Tide. The other seven exist as two achievement names each and nothing more. Two activities go the other way, taught in full and rewarded by no achievement at all: Suspicious Activity and Infiltration.

How the city hands you work

The game flags this with a tutorial headed District Unlocked, and it says exactly two things.

Entering a particular area may unlock Incidents in that area. Event guides will also appear on the left.

That is the whole mechanism. Work is attached to places, not to people, and the trigger is arrival. It is why the traversal kit matters more here than in a game with a quest board: the fastest way to fill your log is to cover ground you have not covered.

Incidents that have been unlocked but not completed can be tracked using the map's Incident markers.

Incidents you have unlocked and left alone do not expire off the map, then. They queue.

Exploration Progress is per quarter

The second tutorial, headed City Exploration Progress, covers how any of that gets counted.

Entering a different quarter will automatically unlock Exploration Progress for that quarter. Open the details screen via the icon in the top-left corner of the map.

Enter the quarter details screen to view all incident types and their completion status. Claim progress rewards at the bottom left.

Two things follow from that second line. The quarter is the unit of completion, so a district you have half-cleared reads as half-cleared on its own screen rather than disappearing into a city-wide percentage. And the reward track is separate from the achievements further down this page: the quarter screen pays you for progress, the achievements pay once for finishing a family across all of High Peers.

Silver-Kinesis, the tool underneath everything

Hold Left Mouse Button to activate Silver-Kinesis. Release Left Mouse Button to cancel.

Activate Silver-Kinesis to grab items or open and loot chests from a distance.

It is a hold, not a tap, which is worth internalising because it means the grab is a state you stay in rather than an action you fire. Chests open from range. So does anything loose.

Silver-Kinesis holding an Electrified Core in the air. The same grab opens chests, collects Silvercraft and carries puzzle pieces.

The same tool is how you collect Silvercraft, the gear pieces scattered through the city.

Various types of Silvercraft are hidden within the nooks and crannies of Silvernia.

Areas with Silvercraft nearby will sparkle with light, a surefire sign that can help you find them.

Draw close to a Silvercraft and use Silver-Kinesis to acquire it.

Equipping a Silvercraft will make it available to that character in combat.

The sparkle the tutorial describes. Silvercraft sits above head height more often than not, which is the practical reason to look up while you walk.

Every activity High Peers names

Ten families carry a pair of achievements each. Here is what the game publishes about them, counted across every file in the game's own text rather than guessed:

Activity Achievements What the game explains
Grid Shutdown Amateur Sparky, Electrician Legend 3 tutorial pages
Feline Breakout Freeze! Paws Up Where I Can See 'Em, Cat Whisperer 3 tutorial pages
Corrupting Tide What Even Are They?, All You Zombies 2 tutorial pages
Royal Equestrian Tournament Dark Horse, Expert Equestrian Nothing
Hot Off the Press Aspiring Messenger, Read All About It Nothing
Wallborne Maze Brain Teaser, Wall-Mighty Warrior Nothing
Lighting Recalibration Let There Be Light, The Sun Never Sets Nothing
Ruins Restoration Refraction of Faith, Wave-Particle Duality Nothing
Streetscape Recreation Creative Recreation, Leave No Trace Nothing
Kidnappers Hostage Situation, Coming Out of My Cage Nothing

Three of ten. That ratio is not a gap in this page, it is the finding: seven of the ten activities in Silver Palace's open world are named twice in an achievement list and never mentioned again.

Four more rows in the same achievement group are collection lines rather than jobs:

Line Achievement What it is
Cognito Pins City Cognition One achievement for unlocking every pin in High Peers.
Strandean Flowways The Hitchhiker's Guide to Silvernia The traversal network a Liftway activates for you.
Circuitways Like a Fish to Water Unlocked by exploring each area, then flown automatically.
Liftways Bird on the Wind Ride in to soar upward and enter Flight Mode.

The three the game teaches

Grid Shutdown

Use Silver-Kinesis to grab Electrified Cores.

After grabbing the Electrified Core, either throw or move it to place it on a fixed base.

Place the Electrified Core on the proper base to disable the electric fence and acquire the chest.

The game teaches this puzzle twice, under two names. The second version drops the fence and the chest and uses the same cores on a door:

Use Silver-Kinesis to grab Electrified Cores.

Place the Electrified Core on the base.

Completing the circuit opens the electric gate.

Same verb, same object, different prize. Once you have done one you have done both.

An Electrified Core seated on its base in a Silvernia plaza, the surrounding barrier switched off, with the Detective standing back from it

A core seated on its base. The barrier it was powering is down.

Feline Breakout

Cats will be scared and run away if you get too close. Watch where the cat is escaping and don't lose its trail.

Cats will leave paw prints while running away. Look for them to determine where the cat is going.

After running a certain distance, a cat will pause to rest.

Once the cat is completely exhausted, it will stop, allowing you to walk right up and catch it.

This is an activity that punishes closing the distance, which almost nothing else in the game does. Hang back, follow the prints, and let the rest stops do the work for you. The achievement names are the giveaway that the game knows it is being silly: 3 pages of tutorial for Freeze! Paws Up Where I Can See 'Em.

The moment the tutorial warns you about. Get too close and this is the rest of your afternoon.

Corrupting Tide

Interact with a Blasphemous Spike to activate the Corrupting Tide.

During a Corrupting Tide, enemies will continuously emerge from the shadows. Defeat as many as you can before time runs out.

Alone among the city activities, this one is a fight on a timer. The Blasphemous Spike is the object you touch to start it, and the corruption it lets out is the same decay the Argent Strand and Rustium material text keeps circling.

A Blasphemous Spike, with the corruption already spread across the courtyard around it.

Two activities no achievement pays for

Neither of these appears anywhere in the achievement table, which is why a list built from achievements misses them entirely. Both are taught in full.

Suspicious Activity

Left: When hidden enemies are nearby, the Danger Radar shows their direction.

Right: When hidden enemies are in your immediate vicinity, the Danger Radar flashes intensely.

Hold Right Mouse Button on passersby in front of you to observe them

After seeing through the target's disguise and verifying their identity, press Left Mouse Button to expose the enemy and enter battle.

That is a disguise mechanic hiding inside an open-world activity. Enemies are standing in the crowd as ordinary passersby, the Danger Radar tells you roughly where, and identifying one is a deliberate hold rather than a swing.

The Silver Palace Danger Radar shown twice side by side, the ring glowing steadily on the left and flaring brightly on the right

The Danger Radar in both states the tutorial describes. Left, a hidden enemy somewhere nearby. Right, one close enough to matter.

Infiltration

Watch out for patrolling or idling guards. The area shown in the image marks their detection zone.

Entering this zone fills the Alert meter. The meter will fill faster the closer you are. Reaching maximum Alert compromises the infiltration.

Take cover in hiding areas to conceal yourself from the guards. You can safely stay or pass through these without being detected.

Detection zones, an Alert meter that fills faster the nearer you get, and safe cover you can stand in or move through. That is a stealth system, fully specified, in a game marketed on detective work and combat.

Cover, two guards, and a room to cross.

What the game only names

These seven have no tutorial page, no item text, no description anywhere in the game's own writing. All that exists is the achievement pair:

  • Royal Equestrian Tournament. Dark Horse and Expert Equestrian.
  • Hot Off the Press. Aspiring Messenger and Read All About It.
  • Wallborne Maze. Brain Teaser and Wall-Mighty Warrior.
  • Lighting Recalibration. Let There Be Light and The Sun Never Sets.
  • Ruins Restoration. Refraction of Faith and Wave-Particle Duality.
  • Streetscape Recreation. Creative Recreation and Leave No Trace.
  • Kidnappers. Hostage Situation and Coming Out of My Cage.

Every one of those names suggests a shape. Wallborne Maze sounds like the wall running from the movement guide bent into a puzzle. Ruins Restoration pays an achievement called Wave-Particle Duality, which points at light. Hot Off the Press rewards an Aspiring Messenger, so presumably you run newspapers. All of that is inference, none of it is stated, and none of it is written above as fact. When the game says more, this page will.

One naming note, because it trips people up in search. The tournament above is the Royal Equestrian Tournament in the game's own text. It is the same event the minigames guide covers, and it is also where a Private Request about a lost bunny knight ends up.

The Main Stage: High Peers achievements

All 24 of them, paying 340 Reactor Crystals between them. This is the only place the game writes the activity list down in one block.

Read the names rather than the goals and the writers' room shows through: a Heinlein story for the zombie-adjacent Corrupting Tide, Douglas Adams for the hitchhiking network, wave-particle duality for restoring ruins that refract light. The Epiphany names do the same thing with a different shelf of books.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Incident in Silver Palace?

An Incident is one unit of optional work out in the city. The tutorial states the rule plainly: entering a particular area may unlock Incidents in that area, and Incidents that have been unlocked but not completed can be tracked using the map’s Incident markers. They are not handed out by a quest giver, so walking into a district you have not been to is how you find them.

How does Exploration Progress work?

It is tracked per quarter rather than per city. Entering a different quarter automatically unlocks Exploration Progress for that quarter, and the details screen opens from the icon in the top-left corner of the map. That screen lists every incident type in the quarter with its completion status, and progress rewards are claimed at the bottom left.

What is Silver-Kinesis used for?

It is the telekinetic grab, held rather than tapped, and it is the tool most Incidents run on. The tutorial gives it three jobs: grabbing items and looting chests from a distance, picking up Silvercraft once you are close to it, and carrying Electrified Cores to their bases during a Grid Shutdown.

How many Incident types are there in High Peers?

Ten activity families carry achievements, plus four collection lines: Cognito Pins, Strandean Flowways, Circuitways and Liftways. Together they make up the 24 achievements in the Main Stage: High Peers group, worth 340 Reactor Crystals. Two more activities, Suspicious Activity and Infiltration, are taught in full and pay no achievement at all.

How do you catch the cat in Feline Breakout?

By pacing it, not by chasing it. Cats run if you get too close, and they leave paw prints while running, which is how you keep the trail. After a certain distance a cat pauses to rest, and once it is completely exhausted it stops, so you can walk up and catch it.

What is a Blasphemous Spike?

The object that starts a Corrupting Tide. You interact with a Blasphemous Spike to activate the Tide, after which enemies emerge continuously from the shadows and you defeat as many as you can before time runs out. It is the only one of the city activities that is a fight rather than a puzzle or a chase.

What do Exploration Progress rewards give you?

Progress rewards sit at the bottom left of the quarter details screen and are claimed there. That track is separate from the achievement payouts, which are one-time: clearing every activity family and collection line in High Peers pays the group’s 340 Reactor Crystals on top of whatever the quarter hands out along the way.

Is there a full list of Silver Palace side activities?

Ten are named: Grid Shutdown, Feline Breakout, Corrupting Tide, Royal Equestrian Tournament, Hot Off the Press, Wallborne Maze, Lighting Recalibration, Ruins Restoration, Streetscape Recreation, Kidnappers. Only three of the ten are explained anywhere in the game's own text. The other seven exist as a pair of achievement names and nothing else, which is why this page lists them without describing them.
