Identity Ability Books

Six Identity lines, four ranks each. These are the largest ability sink in the game and Motives draw from the same six lines that characters do.

24 materials 6 ladders

Identity books are the largest material sink in Silver Palace. Six Identity lines, four ranks each: Instinct, Insight, Challenge, Legacy, in ascending rarity.

They are contested because two separate systems draw on the same twenty-four rows. Character ability upgrades spend them, and so does Motive breakthrough. A Motive and a character with the same Identity are competing for the same books, which is why demand here runs so far ahead of every other group.

The Instinct rank drops from its Identity domain only. Insight, Challenge and Legacy can each also be crafted upward from the rank below, so a domain run is never strictly required for the top three ranks, only cheaper.

Which line to farm first

Total demand across every character and every Motive at its published ceiling, by line:

  • Hero 1,270 units, from Hero's Path
  • Guardian 969 units, from Guardian's Resilience
  • Witness 931 units, from Witness's Verdict
  • Saviour 887 units, from Saviour's Aid
  • Outlaw 624 units, from Outlaw's Determination
  • Victim 136 units, from Victim's Decree

Hero's Path leads by a wide margin because Hero is the most common Identity on the roster. Victim sits last because its demand comes entirely from Motives, which is worth knowing if you are building a Victim Motive and wondering why the domain feels quiet.

If you are planning a farming week around one domain, Hero's Path returns the most, and the gap is large enough that it is not close.
